Legacy

The Vinctalin Legacy:Legacy is the first and the last of sixteen volumes of The Vinctalin Legacy. Read it first and discover the basis of the beliefs of the sects now occupying the earth or read after the fifteen volumes and know the impact of a lost history on earth’s tiny surviving population.

The Vinctalin Legacy comprises five books each with three volumes giving the account of the events on earth following and alien invasion. They provide the only proof of the heroic resistance to that attack which now defines the present day order of a peaceful world. For the happy majority of believing sects this is a pleasant life revolving around the philosophies of those heroes who lived and died that others might enjoy freedom.

The Vinctalin Legacy:Legacy  tells of an age where some people carry the names of lost generations and the weight of history. Flower Shakespeare has learned by rote to quote lines from the bard and describe flowers that bloomed in England five thousand years ago. Some revere the names of the heroes by passing them to their children: Tiero, Vesenlassa and Athan all from different sects of believers follow the philosophies of their name-sakes: principally they were slayers of the beasts. Others have names reflecting their occupation such as Isaac Booker who is an archaeologist and keeper of the delicate ancient paper books printed five millennia past.

All these pacifist sects base their values on the results of the Vinctalin invasion but there are two marginalised groups eschewing such belief. The Stanzinis have a hero from the legend, Benjamin Stanzini, whom they regard as nothing more than an inspirational but mythological character. The other group, The Dex Alliance consists of two factions: the gangs originally from the east and the families who are headed by patriarchs.

Aggression turns to horrific violence as the pacifist sects unite to prevent the Dex Alliance stealing the natural water supplies and settlements of peaceful Bifield scientists.

In a dry desolate world many years in the future...

Coming from a powerful sprint, with long hair flying, he planted the pole and swung high around the top of it, felling his opponent with a two-footed stamp to his back. Ominous silence followed the blood-curdling battle cries, while an athletic landing set him astride the prone man trying to push up. A sharp jab with the end of his pole between the shoulder blades ground face and chest back into the dust...

Global warming had left the world almost without water... The crowd cheered, girls swooned, and Kip tried again to get someone’s attention. He scanned the crowd for anyone who might have an official status. No one here wore badges or distinct clothing to distinguish policy-makers and leaders from the average citizen, though all were dressed exotically, to this plain man’s eyes. There was nothing uniform about the clothing other than that. Both men and women wore long, loose, cool robes with intricately embroidered borders, or colourful designs dyed into the fabric.

Scientists tried to fix it but... There were women in skimpy lace bodices with long flowing skirts, or tiny shorts. There were both men and women in comfortable sarongs; the men bare-chested and the women almost were with a garment he had never before seen, hugging round breasts and tied in place with thin straps.

Society was based on the legacy of a...
